Out with the Old

by rq on February 8, 2010

Got a new hard drive, or rather Dad helped me buy my new hard drive, at my request/nagging. Managed to clear quite a bit of space on my laptop. So I now have seventeen gigabytes of free space! Haha. Okay I admit, I have to clear more data.

Three hard drives. One for photos, one for video/music, one to backup + spare files. Being an organised freak (somewhat), I am going insane trying to organise the files. I need MORE USB ports! Macbook only has TWO!

I travel around too much to deal with a desktop. Pfft. Have been trying to argue/whine my case with Dad and Gerard – the pillars of practicality.

“Why do you need such a powerful laptop? So expensive!”

“But I WANT THE POWER! LOOK MY LAPTOP IS LAGGING!”

“Why do you need two monitors?”

“But it helps me with coding! And it makes it easier to do stuff!”

I know. I keep it vague and try to win with whining and insistent jabs into the air. So far I have not saved up enough to buy a MacBook Pro. We shall see how it goes. The monitor issue will have to wait till I get my own house, as my room currently has no space. So that will be… never. Bah.

Hugs for my Zhi who is back to being my psuedo boyfriend! Not that I am happy to have him back. I was all too willing to give him up. When you love someone, you have got to let them go. *I jest*

Okay so clearing of data. Clearing of stuff in room/house. Next to ‘green up’ my wardrobe and try to make new clothes with my old ones. It’s to recycle my old clothes instead of chucking them away. I know I can simply give them away, but I am trying to recycle/upcycle them. I NEED A CRAFT/SEWING AREA!

The best virtual conversation I had recently was with Cera via Twitter.

Me: What if you’ve met the guy you -think- you want to marry, BUT he’s says you have to propose to him. Talk about change in gender roles.

Cera: why is there a need to get married? What’s impt is the the guy (or girl) is someone you want to spend your life with:)

Me: to get the stupid hdb flat. Make use of citizenship mah. Haha

Cera: see! Marriage is so NOT about the love!

Me: Being together=love. Marriage=certificate.

Take it with a pinch of salt alright? I would not say I am a hundred percent sure about getting married, but why else would you get into a relationship if marriage was not on the cards? For me at least.

I can so imagine my friends and Gerard giggling like mad right now. Grrrr.

PS: I met the Scout guys and they are a really great bunch! I think I barely spoke, but I sure was eavesdropping during their meeting. I was sitting at the same table! Hope I can join Gerard at his future meetings. So as long there is Interne, a powerpoint and he is within earshot, he can do whatever he likes. Grin.
